Belsize Park Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Belsize Park Removals to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings and relationships, and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard the people who work with and for us.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Belsize Park Removals adopts a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. Modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and is incompatible with our values and the standards we expect from everyone associated with our business.
We expect the same high standards from all our employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers, and any other business partners. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of employment, contracts, or business relationships, as appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Belsize Park Removals operates in the removals and related services sector. Our activities include residential and commercial removals, packing, storage logistics, and associated transport services. Our supply chain includes, but is not limited to, providers of packing materials, vehicles, storage facilities, fuel, equipment, recruitment services, and other professional and support services.
We recognise that some parts of our supply chain may be at higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where temporary labour, transport, and warehousing are involved. We therefore focus our due diligence and monitoring on these higher-risk areas.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and meet our standards regarding human rights and labour practices. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we:
Request confirmation from key suppliers that they comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights legislation in the jurisdictions in which they operate.
Assess suppliers based on their location, sector, and use of subcontractors to identify areas of higher risk.
Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance, including policies, procedures, and training related to modern slavery and human trafficking.
Expect suppliers to flow down equivalent requirements to their own suppliers and subcontractors.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to address them within a reasonable timeframe. If serious issues are found or suppliers are unwilling to remedy them, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Belsize Park Removals encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We expect employees, workers, and business partners to raise any concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct at the earliest possible stage.
Concerns can be reported internally to line managers or senior management. Individuals who prefer to report concerns outside of their immediate management chain are encouraged to contact a member of the senior leadership team directly. We will treat all concerns seriously and investigate them promptly and fairly, ensuring that, wherever reasonably possible, confidentiality is respected.
We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Any such retaliation will be treated as a disciplinary matter.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to maintaining awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff. Relevant employees receive guidance on recognising potential signs of exploitation, particularly in relation to labour providers, subcontractors, and on-site working practices. We encourage all staff to remain vigilant and to report anything that causes concern.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
This statement and the associated policies will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure they remain effective and appropriate to our business and risk profile. As part of this review, we will consider feedback from employees, audit findings, and any reported incidents or concerns.
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks. This may include refining our risk assessment processes, enhancing supplier requirements, updating staff training, and strengthening our monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the directors of Belsize Park Removals and constitutes our statement for the current financial year.
